The Visit paper

For your response to The Visit, think about one of the following questions.  Use specific examples from the play to illustrate your thesis.  Where appropriate, speculate on how the play might be produced.  What production choices might be made to illustrate your point?

1. How is the theme of sacrificing one for the benefit of the many relevant in your world?

2. What different types of lying are found in the play?  How do they contribute to the message of the play?

3. The play is absurdist in style, not realistic.  How does this affect the message of the play?

4. The action of the play, after Claire reveals her purpose, builds until the end.  How does the playwright build the tension, and how might that be communicated in performance?
